We're Going To The Chapel..

"Marriage is like pi- natural, irrational, and very important" -Lisa Hoffman

Weddings are my favorite. Last night was the first wedding I've attended that was for someone who I knew, a person who I went to high school with. This wedding was not only amazing, but extremely entertaining! Hilarious affairs continued to string together and created a beautiful mess, and my favorite new year of all time. It all started with my clumsy boyfriend, having one of his mishaps. My friends and I were standing at the doorway awaiting an usher to lead us to our seat. He approached and asked my friend, Macy, "Bride or Groom". Now Macy considered this question to be utterly confusing. We had known the Groom since high school, most graduated with him, but the Bride we also knew..but not as long. So as Macy hesitated the rest of us shouted GROOM! The usher looked at us with surprise..then proceeded to grab my friend Macy, who I might add was attached to her boyfriend at the time. She looked back in confusion at her boyfriend who shrugged and walked on. Colton, my man, thought quickly at the time and grabbed my hand and followed. No usher was going to rip me from his arms haha. He then turned to laugh at the man behind us, NOT seeing the huge electrical set-up at his feet. Thus, the clumsy mishap. At that moment I thought, "Where is that usher!!!! Come take me!!!". I lowered my head and we walked on to our seats, not undetected! We watched the beautiful ceremony. Everything was just wonderful. Then came the reception.  I had told Colton he owed me a dance. Instead, Colton hooked me up with a handsome 10 year old. Who he paid! But made up for it when he told me that was the cutest thing he had ever seen. He also said that's why he "picked" me :) The traditional festivities continued, the best man speech followed by the maid of honor's. Her speech was my favorite of the night. She had made vows of her own that she thought they should promise each other.
*For the Bride: Do you promise to keep calm when as your moving in to base housing, a man comes and tells you, "You'll be leaving by the end of the month?"
*For the Groom: "When your away, do you promise to leave all cash, credit and debit cards along with the check book?"
The DJ then composed a marriage game. Everyone who is married proceeded to the dance floor, as he announced certain year amounts. "If you have been married for five years or less, leave the dance floor". In the end, one couple of 44 years remained. When asked their secret to a long marriage, both of their replies created some comic relief.
    *The woman: "Keep it spicy!"
*The man: "Keep your mouth shut!"
Weddings are my favorite for many reasons, but the main reason is because of all the beauty that comes from it. Happiness, commitment, and fun :)
Can't wait for mine!

P.S. Don't worry Grandma, it'll be awhile till that happens ;)
